Gisburn Forest Retreat FAQs

Weather

If it's cold we have a big yurt with a woodburner and a heated building we can use. You'll be comfortable all day no matter what the weather's doing

Where’s Gisburn Forest?

Gisburn Forest is a 1,212.93 hectare woodland in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Ribble Valley, right on the boundary of the Yorkshire Dales. It’s a central location for people based in Yorkshire, Lancashire, Greater Mcr and Cumbria.

  • 1hr drive from Manchester, Leeds, Kendal, Preston, Harrogate, Bradford.

Am I flexible enough?

YES. The physical yoga is suitable for everyone - I've sequenced it with loads of room for people to get what they need out of it. We have all ages & genders signed up so far.

What kind of yoga?

The first class is a more energetic flow and the afternoon class is calming & restorative.

Food included?

Lunch is included - it's a key element of the retreat. Our chef is fab & it'll be vegan/veggie with your food preferences & allergies in mind. Warm drinks/cacao also included.

What do I bring?

  • A yoga mat (no worries if you don’t have one - just email me to let me know and I’ll bring one along for you).

  • A few layers - the first yoga session will be energetic but the weather can be changeable.

  • Comfortable/yoga pants.

  • Boots - arrive in some shoes you’ll feel comfortable wearing in the forest in case you want to have a wander on the 90min lunch break.

  • Any intentions you would like to set.

  • Optional - slides/crocs/flipflops/slip ons - this doesn’t matter if you don’t mind getting your feet a bit dirty. If the weather allows for outdoor yoga there will be times where you’ll be stepping on and off your mat.

  • Optional - blanket/bolster - I’ve got blankets for the relaxation but more is always a plus.

  • Optional - blocks, straps - feel free to bring along any props if you find them useful but they’re not necessary for the sequences.

Can I come if I'm pregnant?

Yes, I'm fully trained to facilitate pregnancy yoga. The classes are for all so I'll advise what poses aren't suitable and give you adjustments as we work through the sequences.

Parking?

We’ll start at 10am and leave around 4.30pm

The event will be held at Gisburn Forest, Forest of Bowland AONB. Follow this link for Google Maps.

Parking is free but you must follow the map and park near the café - don’t turn left to park in the the paid forest car park, continue straight ahead.

I have a video on navigating to the location here.

For all event details including schedule, visit the event page through book retreats. Thanks so much for considering my events, I can’t wait to meet you.
